Bayer Schering Pharma launched a patient assistance programme to help more people with Multiple Sclerosis (MS) enjoy a better quality of life through early and continued treatment with interferon beta. The programme was introduced in conjunction with World MS Day 2010 recently. MS is a disease in which the body’s own immune system attacks the myelin – the protective covering around the nerve cells that insulates and helps the transmission of nerve signals throughout the body. Cords and drawstrings in children’s garments can cause injury or death

Cords and drawstrings in children’s garments can be hazardous to children’s health, leading to severe injury or even death, if they do not follow safety standards. A European Union (EU) market survey was conducted by PROSAFE, the EU network of surveillance authorities to check on the safety of children’s clothes with cords and drawstrings. The SU market surveillance authorities  received notifications of accidents where cords or drawstrings on children’s clothes become entangled in bicycles, doors, car doors, or playground equipment, often leading to severe injury or death.
